what i want to be when i grow up...

after i pick the boys up from the babysitter, we normally drive around for about 20 minutes and we go by the railroad station and drive over several set of railroad tracks nearby, one of ethan's favorite activities. he is always chattering about all sort of things during this time. i ask him about his day and he tells stories. this was what he told me yesterday afternoon, completely unprompted:

"mama, i'm going to be a doctor when i grow up."

"wow, mama will be so proud of you"

"daddy is going to be a doctor when he grows up too."

"oh really?"

"and you're going to be a doctor when you grow up"

"probably not e, mama isn't really doctor material."

"miles isn't going to be a doctor."

"oh, what is miles going to be?"

and he says, very matter of fact...

"a scarecrow."

i burst out laughing. a few seconds later, he says...

"and i am going to be a robot! yeah, a robot!"

little guy must have gotten halloween and being a grown up confused. LOVE our conversations!
