snow day...er, week!

when we get snow here, it is a BIG deal! it turned out we got about 4-6" total, but it was COLD so it just stayed. and stayed and stayed. it snowed on monday night of last week and school was out the entire week! the entire week! and nothing melted until saturday.

i didn't drive at all until saturday (i hate driving in snow!) so i was at the mercy of lance, who thankfully wanted me to work on thursday and friday. i desperately needed out of the house and a break from the sweet children. mollie was sick all week so a cranky infant, a potty training toddler and a bored preschooler add up to a very long, long week. apparently only very strong people can withstand being stuck indoors with small children for days at a time. and apparently i am not one of those people. thank goodness for a grandmother and grandfather next door who were eager to help with little snow covered bundles and feed them full of warm hot cocoa.

despite the cabin fever, i did really enjoy the snow and loved getting to share things with the boys that i used to do on snow days growing up. we ate snow ice cream, cream of wheat, played in the snow and stayed in our jammies (though really nothing new there, right?)

we are supposed to get more snow tomorrow but i can only hope school won't be cancelled and it just blows through. i am not sure i can do another snow week.
