i'm done.

well, i've gone on and off about posting this, but i think i can finally say i am done. it has been a wonderful (almost) 10 months of breastfeeding. i actually weaned miles just before he was 9 months when lance and i went to mexico. i didn't know i wouldn't nurse him when we got back, but i guess it is better that way. i wasn't sad knowing that this would be the last time. he had slowly been losing interest much the same way that ethan did right around the same time. i did end up pumping for the last month, but i just decided that now was time and i do believe i have packed up my pump for the last time. i will say, i am not going to miss that! i talked to another mom at a playgroup i go to and we had the same thoughts that if you drag it out just long enough, you will be ready to give it up. and i think i did just that. it is a lot easier when you are nursing, but when you are just pumping, it seems like so much more work. i have to give a round of applause to exclusively pumping moms, i think that is an amazing accomplishment and i am not sure i would have been able to do it...but i guess never know unless you try. i made it a month longer than i did with ethan and i am proud of that. and it was so much better this time around. not that i didn't enjoy it with ethan, it was just easier and i was more comfortable with it.

i have no idea what the future holds in store and if we'll have a number 3 to add to our family, but i do know that i will look forward to nursing a little one once again. it is such an amazing feeling and i wouldn't have given it up for anything...even through those tough first few weeks.
