my latest project - a sneak peek

my latest project has been ethan's room. i found the cutest bedding set at wal-mart (who would have thought?!) and that started the theme of woodland friends. after lots of searching on the internet and checking out inspiration from many other rooms i have found some wonderful ideas that i have been putting together in the last few weeks. i still have lots more to do, but here is a sneak peek of some of the things that will be going into his room.

throw pillows: i found these amazing pillows on etsy and fell in love with them, but not the price, especially for a toddlers room. i bought some felt by the yard and some great linen look-alike unbleached cotton at hobby lobby and found an easy pillow cover tutorial. i love how my first one turned out! i drew the bird applique based on the inspiration pillows and then hand stitched it to the cover. it took a really long time, but i think it was worth it. my other pillow will be a smaller, rectangular one with an "e" appliqued onto it. these will both sit on top of a storage bench from ikea.

wall art: so many great prints and ideas for wall art out there. i fell in love with this great vinyl mural set from the wee gallery. it comes with lots of different pieces so you can mix and match and lay them out exactly as you would like. after a few small issues (ethan thinking they were stickers) i think (crossing my fingers!!) that they are here to stay.

framed art: more wee gallery prints. the 3 smaller framed prints are art cards from wee gallery. the pack comes with 6, black on one side and white on the other. these are actually geared more towards babies who can easily see black and white, but i just love the style of them and how well they go with the rest of ethan's room. i also found a set of alphabet cards from martha stewart. i picked out 4 of the woodland type animals and they will be hung above the storage table - still trying to figure out exactly how i want to do it though.

bedding: i found this one day on an end cap at wal-mart and had lance go back and get it later that day. if you don't get things right away at wal-mart they tend to disappear never to be found again. it is soft and ethan's loves the animals. i had been searching for bedding i loved and i just wasn't finding anything. that is perfect! i loved the green and orange accent colors too.

that is all i have done so far, but lots more to come. including pics of the furniture, wall letters, the actual room and all of it put together. it is an ongoing project, but i am having such a great time with it.
