first night on the houseboat

and i was nervous! i was so scared that the boys wouldn't sleep a wink. well they proved me wrong and did wonderfully! miles fell asleep in about 5 minutes. ethan took over an hour, but he was down there reading his books and playing with his trains, so no big deal. it was lance and i that couldn't sleep. someone had said there were some partiers on the dock, who knew that they really meant the canadian geese that came out at about 9pm and stayed up all night long. thankfully i had brought a noise machine for the boys. they weren't using it (as ethan had turned it off before he feel asleep) so i stole it for us. there are two beds down below, one on each side of the "room" and we set one up for him and one up for miles. we woke up to hear two little boys laughing and playing downstairs at 6:45, though they stayed down there until close to 7:30! i was amazed!

we had our first breakfast on the boat and then i finished organizing some of our supplies while lance took the boys for a little ride on the paddleboat. miles was not a fan because he couldn't quite get comfortable in his jacket, but lance said ethan loved it. we came home today before naps because we didn't want to push our luck, but i am definitely looking forward to somemore weekends out at the lake...with a couple more noise machines of course.
