happy 9 months miles!

a few days late...

5 things that miles loves right now:
1. standing up! he is almost cruising. he loves to hang on the couch and our leather ottoman - he is so close to being stable enough to walk along it. he will also take a few steps in you are holding his hands.
2. stretching out sideways in his crib. i put him down lengthwise in the crib and every time i go in (morning or after naps) he is sideways...loves to have his feeting pressing up against the soft bumper.
3. puffs and cheerios! so my little guy is not really a fan of pureed baby food, but he will eat little finger foods right up!
4. mirrors. i stand him in front of our big mirror in the entry way and he loves it! he just smiles away and plays with the baby in the mirror. i can't remember when it is that they realize it is themselves in the mirror, but i think we are still too early for that.
5. when we are all around him. he definitely notices when we leave and he doesn't like to be alone. he likes to be part of the crowd. he especially loves when ethan is around playing with him - his favorite are tickles on his belly. ethan lays down next to him and kisses his belly and miles laughs like crazy.

5 things i love right now:
1. the fact that he is sleeping! enough said.
2. the babbling. he is chatting up a storm these days. he has even said what sounds very much like "dada" lance loves it!
3. this silly little head tilt thing he does when he wants to see things better. he does it especially when he is in his carseat or when he tries to see around you if you are holding him. it is so cute!
4. he is starting to wave. the sweet little wave where he opens and closes his hands.
5. that he is finally rolling over. i know all babies don't do everything at the same time, blah, blah...but you still tend to get worried when things don't happen right around the text book time. he had rolled over once or twice and it required a lot of coaxing from me so i never really considered it rolling over. now he rolls over onto his belly and finally doesn't hate it. he hasn't started crawling, but he will push himself up on his arms and tries to get his legs up. so far no forward movement, but he does push himself backwards some.

only 3 more months until he is A YEAR OLD!!
