oatmeal = FUN!

oh my! what on earth was i thinking??

a mommy friend led me to this great blog during a week when lance was traveling and i was home with all 3 by myself. so i was very interested in finding new activities. this looked perfect!

went to wal-mart and bought way too many containers of oatmeal. i KNOW the checker thought i was nuts. oh well. cleaned out a container of old clothes from under my bed and we were ready.

the boys were very excited when i told them we were making a pretend sand box.

we dumped our oatmeal in. for the record, it only took about 6 canisters of oatmeal and i had bought 13. but ethan had seen all those canisters and just knew we needed more. the box sits comfortably full with 8 canisters and i'll be eating the rest of the oatmeal until christmas.

they calmly played with the digger and dinosaur toys for about 30 minutes. then came the craziness. i didn't think it would be that bad to let them get in.

wow! a lot of oatmeal everywhere. they proceeded to get completely covered in oatmeal. but they played for almost an hour. and then played for another 30 minutes in the tub. a bath was a MUST after this.

i had a hard time letting go and letting it get messy, but they had a great time and the clean-up wasn't nearly as bad as you'd think. but next time, i am definitely doing something a little less dusty.
