friday lunch: our tradition

we started a tradition with ethan at the beginning of the school year.  every friday we would make plans to have lunch together after we picked him up from school and before dropping him off with the babysitter.  it started because he had a hard time transitioning between school and the babysitter and always wanted to go home.  this was a way we could let him know that one day a week we'd have a special lunch out.  he usually gets to pick, but some weeks needs a little help steering away from mcdonald's (there is only so much mcdonald's on a friday that i can take).  we try to branch out a little.  i look forward to these lunches, especially since it is calmer than lunch with all 3, and ethan and i usually get to have some fun conversations.  sometimes lance gets to join us, sometimes nikki gets to take ethan, sometimes grandmother, but we do always make sure to have a friday lunch.  next year we'll keep it up, just will be adding another silly boy to the mix!
