52 weeks: week 14

being a pioneer for the morning

today ethan's school celebrated the oklahoma land run.  the school asked for kids to dress in pioneer and western wear to celebrate and let us know that they would be having a picnic and mini land run and we were invited.

we had to dig deep into the closet to find some western wear...but i was able to find the never used plaid shirts that i bought when i thought both boys wanted to be zombie scarecrows for halloween (don't ask, had something to do with sponge bob as far as i could tell...) but that was later decided against.  and lance was able to find some bandanas at wal-mart.


i think it turned out adorable!  and we had such fun going to the picnic, indoors since we had yucky weather today.  miles joined right in with ethan's class, even hopped into the class picture just like he knew what he was doing.

our dear friend nikki will be leaving us soon and going back to seattle to be an air force wife :) but we have really enjoyed having her here and the kids just LOVE her!  as part of her moving preparations she has been talking with ethan about moving far, far away and what that means.  this past weekend she took him down to texas to mail a postcard.  she plans to send some more to him and miles from her cross country travels so this was a little early preparation for that (see i told you, she is great with the kids!)  well i finally remembered to check the mail today and there it was!  e was so excited!!  so thank you nikki and we will definitely miss you!!

too much fun!!  mollie held her own and had a blast.  she actually screamed bloody murder when i took her out.  :)  boys thought it was great.  i loved that it only took 15 minutes to give all three a bath, what a timesaver.

week in review: catching up

started off the week kid-free in dallas.  we needed it.  and the weather was absolutely perfect and spring-like.  couldn't have asked for better.

and we returned to our plants sprouting up, guess they are enjoying the warm weather too.

don't be fooled...they only stayed like this for a few seconds, but it sure was cute.

i hope this week is calmer than last.  i'm looking forward to hopefully more time at home in the coming weeks...wrapping up some big projects at work right now so that is why the blog has been so sparse lately.

52 weeks: week 11

this was taken on saturday.  we went up to norman for the afternoon and finished up our trip with a visit to cracker barrel.  we needed something kid friendly.  and i needed someplace that served mac and cheese.  and how cute are these oklahoma rocking chairs?
